I haven't had a gout attack before. .. that I recognised as one .. 3 oysters, a few handfuls of soy nuts at camp. then on the way home I had a slice of carrot cake .. just wanted to be normal. Have been suffering from gout .. very bad yesterday, getting better today but still sharp pains and hobbling around. Apparently gout is not very common in women .. can be the result of hormonal changes, purine rich foods (legumes, shellfish etc) and dehydration. So lots of water, no more oysters, soy nuts or bad carbs/sugar. Rice, fruit, chicken, lettuce and celery seems to have helped.
I am wondering if there is a relationship between worms, hormonal changes and gout? I need to get my thyroid rechecked and then there is the menopause looming somewhere in the future.
I had 3 peaches yesterday (salicylates .. and with minimal side effects so far). A bit more facial flushing (rosacea) .. today, feeling hot, bowels a bit quick but ok. .. three peaches was really overdoing it but they were new seasons local straight from the orchard, juicy and tasty.
The soles of my feet are throbbing as well. This went away for a while and has been back for the last few days. Could be related to hashimotos, suspected autoimmune disease (lupus) or a smorgasboard of other undesirables.
Hi
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time you checked your vitamin D levels? What were they? Do you take D3 and chelated magnesium supplements? If yes, how much do you take?
Hi Herbert Smith,
ReplyDeleteNo I don't. I looked at D3 yesterday it has undesirable preservatives for me .. what brands do you use, or recommend?
Take a look at NowFoods Vit D3, only contains extra Olive Oil and Softgel Capsule (gelatin, glycerin, water).

Thanks Dobol, I did end up getting BioCeuticals D3 drops haven't started them yet. They have sodium benzoate as a preservative.. shall see how I go with this 3 drops is around 1000 iu.
ReplyDeleteI've found another product in Australia that has no preservative. (The gelatin would contain preservative 220 .. sulphur dioxide .. Now Food. BioCeuticals sodium benzoate is a problem for sensitives so not wanting to risk it. Hippocrates Natural Vitamin D3 only olive oil, no gelatin etc.

ReplyDeletewatch this video - really good info!
By any chance are you using sunscreen when you have your facial symptoms? I would get a facial rash with sun exposure then I realized it was a photosensitive reaction to sunscreen. Now I use Badger zinc sunscreen or a hat and I don't get the rash. Chemical sunscreens can cause an allergy after sun exposure. And they also act as estrogen mimickers so they suck all around. Your rash could be due to lupus also. Hope it gets better.
ReplyDeleteHi Eosin, I wish it were so easy. With chronic dyspepsia my rosacea became much worse .. I could control it before with diet.. but no more! I use Megan Gale's invisible zinc .. it is tinted and protects my sensitive skin from the sun and also helps to cover the redness .. the lumps and bumps are still there though! I also use Rosex but I am not sure if it actually does anything.
